Asus ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X Pricing Leaks Ahead of October 2025 Launch

The long-rumored Asus ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming PCs may have had their pricing revealed ahead of the official October 16 launch. Former IGN staffer Destin Legarie claims that Best Buy has listed the handhelds at $549.99 (around R9,600) for the base Ally and $899.99 (around R15,700) for the higher-end Ally X.

Pricing Details

According to Legarie, Best Buy staff confirmed the prices when he inquired directly. Images allegedly from a Tennessee Best Buy store also surfaced, showing a demo kiosk featuring the ROG Xbox Ally X, complete with promotional material highlighting compatibility with Windows PC games.

Rumor or Reality?

While the images and pricing information lend credibility to the leak, nothing has been officially confirmed by Asus or Microsoft. Pricing could still change due to tariffs and retailer markups, particularly since other handheld competitors like the Lenovo Legion Go 2 are expected to retail for as much as $1,479.

Why It Matters

If accurate, the ROG Xbox Ally’s rumored $549.99 price would make it a more affordable entry point into the handheld gaming PC market compared to previous models, while the $899.99 Ally X positions itself as a premium option. Both systems aim to blend console-like convenience with PC-level flexibility.
